With the MP-40 unlikely to survive being nerfed in the Season 1 update for Call of Duty: Vanguard, players are going to want to prepare for the change by leveling up other SMGs. Right now, the Type 100 is easily the second-best submachine gun available to players, and that means that it will likely take the top spot once the MP-40 is knocked down a peg. With the Type 100 likely to be meta in Season 1, now is the time to start leveling it up.

Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Type 100
When players first equip the Type 100, they will realize that the gun is visually similar to the Sten SMG. However, the two guns cannot be more different statistically, as the Sten is undoubtedly the worst SMG in the game at the moment. As such, while both SMGs have a magazine on their side, players will want to make sure that they are equipping the Type 100. They should also pair the Call of Duty: Vanguard Operator Wade with the gun for some extra XP.
The biggest downside to the Type 100 is undoubtedly its small magazine size, and unfortunately, this is something that Call of Duty: Vanguard players will have to get used to. As such, equipping a reliable secondary weapon like the 1911 would be wise. With players likely to kill a few enemies and weaken another before needing to reload, they can switch to the pistol quickly to finish off their opponent. With the full auto 1911 dealing serious damage, too, it is the perfect backup to the Type 100.
Best Gunsmith Attachments For Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Type 100
When messing around with the Type 100 in Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Gunsmith, the very first thing that players will want to do is equip the F8 Stabilizer muzzle to get some extra accuracy. The barrel is also important, and players will want to use the Warubachi 134mm Rapid due to its fire rate and range boost. Optic choice is always personal preference, though the Sunfilter and Reflector sights are all solid.
The most important attachment for this Call of Duty: Vanguard weapon is undoubtedly the .30 Russian Short 30 Round Mags. While the 40 Round Mags that players unlock later on may be tempting, they only increase the damage by 1. With the 30 Round Mags boosting it by 2, players will want to make sure they equip them if they are hoping to find success. They will also get more bullet range, velocity, and penetration.
The negatives with the 30 Round Mags come in the form of accuracy and fire rate drawbacks. While the fire rate remains solid, players will want to focus on keeping the accuracy stats up. As such, the Rubber Grip rear grip, the M1941 Hand Stop underbarrel, and the Shirashi T100 stock are all worth using. Vital is a strong choice for proficiency, though with players reloading so much, Sleight of Hand could be useful as well. The Quick kit option is always good, and Lengthened rounds will further boost the gun’s range. With this Type 100 class, players should be able to do plenty of damage in their Call of Duty: Vanguard matches.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
