Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Ratt
The Ratt is the first unlocked handgun in Call of Duty: Vanguard, and it has proven to be one of the better secondary weapons in the game. As is the case with many of Vanguard’s weapons, the Ratt appeared in Call of Duty: World at War’s multiplayer quite prominently, albeit under a different name. The Ratt seems to be a remake of the Russian Tokarev TT-33, which is the standard sidearm for Russian portions of World at War’s campaign. It is likewise unlocked early in World at War’s multiplayer, meaning it is fairly widespread in online play. There’s a good reason why the Tokarev TT-33 and the Ratt would be a common choice for Call of Duty players, as they offer attributes that make them the perfect secondary weapon.
As secondaries go, the Ratt is one of the best weapons in Call of Duty: Vanguard. It has the highest speed and accuracy stats of all of the handguns in Vanguard, making it a reliable option as a last resort. Without upgrading the magazine capacity of a primary weapon, it can be easy to blast through ammo stocks in Vanguard, at which point, players will need to call upon their secondary weapon. The Ratt’s potential for fast-firing means players can unload their magazine in no time at all during a moment where time will be precious. This comes without the sharp recoil of Vanguard’s machine pistol, making the Ratt a much more versatile handgun, able to get kills at short to mid-range.
Best Attachments for Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Ratt
Call of Duty: Vanguard’s gunsmith is essential to build upon the base attributes of the game’s weapons, and handguns are no exception. Handguns also have attachments that can help to make them more of a viable option in a tricky situation, rather than a last resort. In the case of the Ratt, while it is already a useful handgun to have, it isn’t perfect and can be improved upon with a handful of well-placed attachments that can take it to another level. A few of the attachments will come down to personal preference, but there are others that shouldn’t be missed out on.
Unfortunately, none of Call of Duty: Vanguard’s operators have the Ratt as their favorite weapon, and as such there aren’t any XP boosts available. Players may want to enhance the Ratt’s speed, in which case, improving fire rate would be the go-to. As such, the Lightweight Trigger and 7.62 Gorenko 9 Round Mags would be ideal attachments. Aside from that, improving the Ratt’s accuracy is key to landing shots, so the Stippled Grip, the No. 3 Rifle Brake muzzle, and Panic proficiency will all help players to land those first crucial shots after swapping weapons. The Ratt is one of the better handguns in the game, and with attachments, it can be taken to another level entirely.
