Community creator Dan Harmon recently spoke in an interview with The Wrap about Community. In the interview, he acknowledged that conversations are happening about the Community movie, though cautioned fans now to raise their expectations. “Keep ’em nice and low and then be pleasantly surprised,” he said. “So I can say that there are conversations happening that people would want to be happening and that I’m very, very excited about the coming months.”

A Community movie has been teased for the last couple of months, with Alison Brie hinting as much in a Reddit AMA back in February. Speculation that the Community movie could finally be happening continued to mount when it was revealed that the Community cast (sans Chevy Chase) was reuniting for a special table read, including Donald Glover, who played Troy on the show.
Whether or not a Community movie happens remains to be seen. However, it’s worth pointing out that the show was recently added to Netflix, and Netflix itself seems to have a strong relationship with Community star Joel McHale. Combine this with Dan Harmon’s recent Rick and Morty success, and it seems as though a Community movie is more likely now than ever before.
Community is available to stream on Netflix.
